Welcome to our self built hideaway at this unique setting overlooking the break at Shipwreck’s Beach, where you’ll find great waves when they’re rolling in….and a great swimming beach when they’re not. The desert meets the sea here so there’s burros, sea turtles & pelicans on the beach, as well as cactus, wildflowers and beautiful arroyos to explore. The neighborhood is a pleasant mix of Mexican ranchers, fishermen, and a few local gringos and surfers. The casita is about 10′ x 14′ with two single beds which can be attached together to make a double, and we can also add a cot and/or pitch you an extra tent if you’re traveling with a larger group. The room is a separate and private dwelling about 30′ from the main house. Shower, drinking water, parking & Wifi/WiMAx are all included in the price and organic home cooked meals are also available at a very reasonable price! See more pics & info here:Read full description.
1 guest is included in the $45 base price, but if you’re traveling with more people, additional guests are just $15 extra per night, per guest. The hut can sleep up to 3, but I also have other lodgings on the same property if you’re traveling with a larger group.
Home cooked meals also available with advanced notice!

Cory C said” I have never been as relaxed on a vacation as I was while staying in the ocean view palapa at Elena & Leon’s place. My friends and I slept with only the sound of waves and under the hand-woven roof, without walls. Each morning a short walk to the surf for snorkeling along a beach almost entirely to ourselves. Then a hearty, delicious breakfast prepared by Elena & Roberto, followed by the afternoon to relax, read, swim, and nap. A tasty dinner each evening became an opportunity to converse over excellent tequila. Leon, Elena & Roberto are well-read, open-minded, and definitely contributed to our experience in Baja. While one can ignore civilization at this remote slice of paradise, the palapa and main house are completely powered by the sun and, believe it or not, offer high-speed wireless internet. Consider booking soon as the newly paved road was just completed so this idyllic hide-away will surely grow in popularity. I am planning to return soon myself.”
Hannah & David said” Leon and Elana were gracious and charming hosts, and our time with them was the highlight of a long tour of southern Baja. If you’re looking for good surf, quiet beaches, tasty meals, general tranquility, and a picturesque place to rest your head at night … look no further.”
Emilie & Stephanie said” We had a great experience at Shipwreck’s beach with Elena y Leon for Christmas and New year’s eve time. The shack and all the environment is exactly as described in the ad. It’s all about living according to the rythm of nature : sun, ocean, weather etc… We had every kind of weather, including rain and enjoyed every minute of it! It can be nice to rent a car for few days if you want to explore around San Jose Del Cabo but not necessary. I highly recommend to take breakfasts and dinners with Elena & Leon, because it’s sooooo good (Elena will open a restaurant one day, I know it!!) and really pleasant moments to share with inspiring people that you won’t meet every day! Best moments ever : falling asleep with the sound of waves; waking up with the sunrise light; watching whales from my bed; huge (almost) private beach! Go and enjoy what this exceptional place has to offer!”
12mi to San José Del Cabo, 30mi to Cabo San Lucas, 50mi to La Paz, 100 steps to the water…
